Maharashtra Cabinet expanded here is the full list of ministers Maharashtra Cabinet Ministers List: A total of 39 MLAs were inducted into the Maharashtra government on Sunday (December 15), including state Bharatiya Janata Party chief Chandrasekhar Bawankule. The oath-taking ceremony took place in Nagpur, a day before the commencement of the week-long Winter Session of the state legislature on December 16.

While 33 were inducted as Cabinet ministers, 6 were sworn in as ministers of state. Out of the 33 Cabinet ministers, 16 are from BJP, 9 from Shiv Sena and 8 from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). The BJP has also retained the lion’s share in the ministers of state list, with three MLAs being sworn in from the party. With the swearing-in, power sharing agreements between the Mahayuti alliance are expected to be finalised soon. The Home portfolio, which was a major point of contention between the BJP and its ally Shiv Sena, will be retained by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 witnessed a decisive victory for the Mahayuti, securing a landslide win with 230 out of 288 seats in the state. While the BJP won 132 seats, the Shiv Sena secured 57 seats, and the NCP got 41 seats. On December 5, Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the CM, with former CM Eknath Shinde and NCP’s Ajit Pawar as his deputies.
